Artists – Children’s Illustrators Illustrated

Artists – Children’s Illustrators Illustrated presents portraits of nineteen Dutch artists and their work. Jouke Akveld uses personal encounters and conversations about technique, inspiration and artistry to present a survey of a professional field that has never been mapped out before. From Mance Post (1925-2013) to Martijn van der Linden (b. 1979), the interviews combine to present a picture of half a century of Dutch illustrative art. With photographs by Amber Beckers, who created portraits of the artists in their studios, and with many illustrations by the authors themselves.
